2011 Certification Program

 

This program provides intensive, individualized training over a one or two-year period, leading to international certification as a schema therapist. Certification is through the International Society for Schema Therapy (ISST).

 

The curriculum includes 2 or 3 weekends of workshops in Kalamazoo; weekly or bi-weekly supervision sessions (by telephone or in-person); readings; and periodic reviews and ratings of patient audio or video recordings. The training is provided by George Lockwood, Ph.D.

 

The International Certification Program in schema therapy is appropriate for experienced mental health professionals and is open to professionals with doctoral or master's level degrees in mental health fields. Applicants should have intermediate or advanced levels of general psychotherapy experience; have attended at least 3 days of workshops in Schema Therapy; and have read "Schema Therapy: A Practitioner's Guide." Admission is competitive.
